Today was election day all over the United States. As a photo challenge the Newsvine Photographers were asked to post pictures from their voting experience. Since I voted by absentee ballot a week or so ago I just went to the nearest Polling Place and this is what I saw.
At 1045 am there was already a line that appeared to be about 40-50 people in length on the outside of the building. Generally speaking our polling places are usually not this crowed by any means. So I was very surprised to see the parking lot full of cars, and a line to vote.
Later this afternoon I read the local news and the article said that the wait was 30-50 minutes but the polling place I visited looked like it would take longer then that. I also looked up to see how many polling places we have here in my county and we have approximately 150. So this a quite a good turnout for our county.
One reason the turnout is so great is due to the fluoride question being on the ballot. Should we have it in our water to not?
As far as signs go, I only saw the two above in a three block area around my house. That was puzzling since usually there are signs everywhere.
All in all this was quite an eye opener and I am glad Ben posed the challenge. So even though I didn't vote today I was able to participate.
